Taking vitamins for hair growth has long been a beauty industry secret that has helped many women maintain their hair's length. Women sometimes are prone to conditions that threaten their hair and thus force them to cut their hair's length in order to maintain a healthy appearance. However, by taking vitamin supplements, they often can avoid cutting their hair and enjoy their hair's natural vibrancy.

In fact, pregnancy often wreaks havoc on a woman's hair. As her hormones fluctuate during the nine months, she may lose hair or her hair may become brittle and break. Many pregnant women complain that they get split ends while they are pregnant. To avoid these problems, some pregnant women cut their hair. However, if they want to keep their hair long while they are pregnant, they should take vitamins. Most obstetricians prescribe their patients prenatal vitamins. However, some women quit taking them because the vitamins make them nauseous. By taking these vitamins for hair growth, they can ensure not only the health of their baby, but also the good condition of their hair. These vitamins are full of folic acid, iron, calcium, and phosphate, all of which are noted to be vital for hair's growth. By the end of their pregnancy, women may notice that their hair is longer and lusher in part because of their vitamin intake.

Even women who are not pregnant benefit from taking vitamins. In fact, as women age, their hair becomes thinner. Many older women resort to cutting their hair and then perming it to make their hair look fuller and healthier. However, they can maintain their hair's length early by taking vitamins for hair growth. Women's multi-vitamins are sold commercially and contain similar ingredients as those found in prenatal vitamins. However, women's vitamins often contain more iron and calcium, both of which are recognized to be essential building blocks for hair growth. Like pregnant women, ladies may soon witness their hair growing longer and fuller as a result of taking vitamins for hair growth daily.

If women cannot tolerate taking a single vitamin or if they have a sensitivity to one of the vitamin's ingredients, they can still get vitamins through their daily diets. Many beauticians recommend that their clients drink plenty of milk or eat plenty of dairy, as these foods contain calcium. Even more, they should eat whole grains and leafy vegetables, such as broccoli and kale, as these foods contain Vitamin B and Vitamin C. Pantothenic acids, which help keep hair long and also helps hair retain its natural color, can be found in foods like eggs and yeast. Women are encouraged to eat foods that contain these ingredients for hair growth.

Along with eating vegetables, yeast foods, and calcium products, women are also cautioned to eat enough protein, found in red meats, chicken, and fish. These foods also contain Vitamin A, noted for its effect on scalp circulation and helping hair to grow. By eating these foods, women can obtain vitamins for hair growth.
