If you are a beginner or a player who has struggled with the game of golf, then there's a good chance you have hit plenty of bad shots. With all the bad shots you've made, it's hard to get those poor results out of your head each time you step on the course. Your consciousness uses these past memories as an opportunity to create doubt. When you allow your mind to control your swing, you tighten up and lose the fluid natural movement that works best.

Your prior experiences have made you look at the game ina preconceived way. Your errors now let you see new shots as hard to play. If you reverse this thinking however , and you look at your shots as easy, then you'll find that it relaxes your mind on hard shots, which reduces the desire for the conscious mind to manage the swing. For additional tips on how to get rid of tension in your swing, click on the link provided.

Visualizing an Easy Task

The key is to visualise a straightforward task before you hit your shot. Anything will do, even the simple task of picking the ball out of the hole could be the perfect vision to kick start your putt.

Before your next putt, picture yourself rolling the ball at the hole. At the same time think about how easy it would be to get the ball close to the cup. For shots off the tee or in the fairway, picture throwing the ball overhand at your target. Imagine a tight green or fairway that is scattered with trees on each side. You may think that you could hit the fairway or green less than 50% of the time. However if you were handed a ball, it's safe to say that you could throw it in between the trees close to 100% of the time. Do this visible exercise and you'll be able to swing better in almost no time.

A Closer Relationship

Now that you are slowly gaining your confidence, you are now able to apply your visualisation to the shots that you are about to hit. With the visualization exercises in the corners of your mind , you should have more success hitting at your target.

The same goes for your short game shots. You can play with different scenarios in your head till you find the best one you need to use to make your short putts less complicated. An illustration of this is when you picture the moment of impact with a straight path and a square clubface.

Visualisation works for full shots as well. Focus on making solid contact and the ball heading right on path, with very little movement right or left. You can then visualize it landing next to your target.

The easier you make your shot seem before you hit it, the less likely that your consciousness will try to control the club. The more that you let your subconscious control the swing, the more fluidity and relaxation you'll feel so you will be in a position to hit better shots.
